Luxury formals are the pieces that take weeks rather than hours — organza and chiffon carrying zardozi and hand work done on a wooden adda frame, coil by coil, by karigars who have done nothing else for twenty years. Machine embroidery copies the pattern but never the relief, which is why every formal here is shot at 2000 pixels: put the lens on the maroon organza and you can see which one you are looking at.

Prices start at Rs 9,450, and during the Azadi sale both formals are flat 50% off. Stock is genuinely small, because these are not run in bulk. Cash on delivery applies as it does everywhere else on the site, delivery is free over Rs 5,000, and the seven-day exchange holds as long as the piece comes back unworn.
