Description
This is a block print, not a screen print, and the difference shows at the edges of the motif. Block printing lays the dye down one carved block at a time, so the outline is slightly soft and every repeat sits a hair away from the last. That irregularity is the process, not a printing fault — a screen print is mechanically identical every time.
The scale is deliberately small. From across a room it reads as texture, and only becomes flowers when someone is standing next to you. Dusty rose is a shade that behaves in daylight and under tube light equally, which is not true of brighter pinks.
Lawn at this weight is summer cloth: it breathes, it takes a starch well if your tailor uses one, and it does not hold a crease the way linen does.
